Workshops for 2019
11AM: Crossing the Final River: Helping Loved Ones After Death with Kim Gerlach
Our responsibility to help loved ones does not end with their physical deaths. Modern, medically-mediated deaths are a striking contrast to traditional deaths at home. Today, people often die drugged, surrounded by strangers. Thus, psychopomp work is ever more important in our modern world, the work of conducting souls to their final destinations after death.
Identifying subtle cues from the recently dead is step one in psychopomp work. Sometimes negotiation is necessary, to help satisfy any remaining concerns so the soul can cross more freely. How can we help the recently dead to release emotional burdens from their lives? What etheric realms are appropriate, and which Gods and spirits can help with this work? Do some spirits need more help than others? Does the manner of death affect a soul's needs? Is there a time frame in which this work needs to take place?
Working with the recently dead comes with its own set of challenges. Creating secure boundaries for the practitioner is essential, along with establishing sturdy etheric portals to Ancestral realms.
This workshop is designed for magical workers from a wide variety of traditions, people who want training so they can assist family members and friends after death. Success or failure in psychopomp work often hinges on the practitioner's ability to negotiate successfully, so it's good practice to be prepared in advance.
2PM: Roles of a Spirit Communicator with Uma Alexandra Beepat
