Lead Local Event Coordinators
Frank Stormcatcher & Michelle Janicki
The Local Event Coordinators are volunteers who are only compensated by the kind words and gratitude of the community.
They work hard to bring you a great event year after year and value feedback from everyone involved from attending, to vending, to volunteering along side them at the event. They are responsible for recruiting and overseeing all volunteers and filling in where needed. They hold occasional meetings with principal contributing volunteers which are open to the public and announced on Facebook. They also plan and hold fundraising events.
Michelle is the primary person who handles nearly all of the pre-event work. She is the Web Master, Social Media Coordinator, Finance Officer, Procurement, Vendor/Group/Healer/Reader Liaison, Registration Coordinator, Email communications, Promotions, Graphic Designer & Program Printer ... She's a frenzy of activity leading up to the event!
Frank is the primary person who handles all the logistics on the Event Day. He coordinates getting all the canopies and booths set up for PPD related booths, helps vendors/groups/readers get to their spaces, is the go-to person for all our volunteers, announces raffles, workshops, and rituals, and ensures a safe and friendly environment for everyone in attendance. Frank has also visited a lot of pagan oriented and pagan friendly businesses to make a personal connection and inform them of the event.
Principal Contributing Volunteers
In addition to Michelle and Frank, we have several dedicated people who, without their help, NoVA PPD could not happen. They handle receiving food pantry donations, raffles, safety/security, and first aid. Help coordinate and often run rituals at PPD. They help set up and run the event on the big day and So Many More Things. We are ever so grateful for their help, their commitment to NoVA PPD, and their dedication to the greater Pagan community. In no particular order, these awesome folks are:
Suzanne
Crystal RedBird Rising
Jeff (Safety/Security)
Emily
Melanie
Liam
We are infinitely grateful for your thoughts, your ideas, your brute strength, your dedication, and all your help throughout the year!
