Northern Virginia Pagan Pride Day was born in 2007 and has been held in several locations around Northern Virginia throughout the years. Our current event home is on the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
Pagan Pride Day is an event that is held in many cities and areas all over the world. These events are always free and open to the public, and you don't have to be Pagan to attend! The goal of this event is to bring non-pagans together with pagans to educate people about paganism in hopes of reducing prejudice against our culture. It also aims to bring together pagans with other pagans in the area to strengthen our community. Northern Virginia Pagan Pride Day will serve the Virginia counties and independent cities within the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, Fauquier, and Stafford, though we will happily welcome those who live outside of these counties as well.
The Pagan Pride Project is a non-profit organization with the goal of promoting the pagan identity through education, activism, charity, and community. This organization works on the international, national, regional, and local levels, and is the eleventh year.
The Pagan Pride Project attempts to define paganism:

- Practicing religion or spirituality based upon shamanism, shamanic, or magical practices; and/or
- Creating new religion based on past Pagan religions and/or futuristic views of society, community, and/or ecology.

Harvest RitualThe cornerstone of Pagan Pride Day is a public religious ceremony where the community can come together to celebrate the Autumnal Equinox together.
Vendor BoothsLocal artisans and shops are invited to sell their wares at the festival. We have been blessed with many talented artisans and businesses with excellent products over the years! Healers and Readers also offer their services at the event.
WorkshopsPagan Pride Day gives us a special opportunity to seek knowledge from others in our community while we all strive to educate the public about Paganism. Workshops are offered for free throughout the day to everyone at the event.
Ease of AccessThe event site is close to plentiful parking and public transportation. The grassy areas are as smooth as grassy nature can be and there are sidewalks surrounding the event space. The site has a row of handicap parking spots immediately adjacent to it and is a gentle landscape for those with mobility issues - either walking or in a chair.

Door PrizesAnyone who brings a canned food donation will receive a free raffle ticket. You may purchase additional raffle tickets for $1 each to increase your chances of winning. Those donating coats receive an extra raffle ticket for each coat donated. The raffle this year will be a "tea cup" style raffle where you drop your raffle tickets in a cup for only the prizes you're interested in winning. Prizes may include readings, home decor, event tickets, candles, jewelry, and all sorts of cool pagan/witchy items. Raffle drawings will be held throughout the day.
Local Groups and OrganizationsOne of the highlights of Pagan Pride Day is all of the local groups and organizations that have booths at the event. It allows them to represent and share information about themselves with the community as well as giving the community an opportunity to build lasting connections.
Family FriendlyPagan Pride Day is a family friendly event. We welcome people of all ages to attend the festival. That being said, there is no official designated kid's area or playground, so we ask that parents keep a close eye on their children. Leaving children unattended is dangerous and irresponsible in public spaces crowded with strangers and with easy egress - this will not be tolerated by event staff for the safety of all children present.
