Announcements
To Our NoVA PPD Community:
We have put a lot of thought into this announcement: NoVA PPD 2020 has been canceled. Our decision has been fueled by two main factors: First is that the pricing for our venue at GMU has been raised just shy of 150%. This is a state decision, not a GMU decision - we still love GMU! The second has to do with the uncertainty surrounding the impact and spread of COVID-19. We want our community to remain as safe and healthy as possible and we hope that come September, COVID-19 is well behind us all with minimal impact. As far as the venue goes, we were already on the search for a new venue once we received the pricing for 2020, but it's no easy task. A potentially great group of venues are also not in consideration due to their vending policies. Fairfax County Parks require all vendors to pay them 15% of their sales at the end of the day on top of venue rental fees. We can't, in good conscience, ask our vendors to pay an additional fee on top of their booth rental. It just doesn't sit well with us, so Fairfax County Parks are not an option. There are other venues in the Fairfax area that aren't run by Fairfax County Parks Authority so we will continue our search! If you have suggestions for venues with insight into good points of contact, pricing, or other helpful information, please pass that along to us. We're considering anything in the Fairfax area at this point.
We fully intend on seeing all of you in September 2021!
Be safe. Be well. Blessed Be.
